Description:
Two-day course "Intestinal suture. Clinical aspects and techniques." It is devoted to acquaintance with the types of intestinal sutures and anastomoses, the principles of selection and development of techniques for the formation of various intestinal sutures, the main complications and principles.
The intensive course program lasting 12 academic hours is designed in such a way that each participant can master the technique of applying intestinal sutures on biological tissue as soon as possible under the control of Coloproctologist surgeon Gore Ivan Vladimirovich.
The first lesson is devoted to acquaintance with the technique of laparotomy, a brief overview of the anatomy of the abdominal wall, the principles of choosing the optimal laparotomy access and revision of the abdominal cavity. You will also get acquainted with the concept and classification of intestinal sutures and anastomoses, their types, indications and the concept of “ideal anastomosis”, as well as the requirements for intestinal suture.
Techniques such as Schmiden's suture, Albert's suture, continuous intestinal suture and their application will be examined.
You will learn how to choose the suture material used in the formation of anastomoses.
Blood supply to the esophagus, stomach, duodenum, small and large intestine will be highlighted. Each participant independently on biological material will work out the technique of ligation of the mesentery of the intestine during the formation of anastomoses.
During the first day, you will, among other things, familiarize yourself with the methods and work out the technique for forming a bowel stump.
The purpose of the second lesson is to familiarize yourself with the critical terms of healing of anastomoses and work out the selection criteria and the technique for performing intestinal sutures.
During the lesson, the types of staplers in abdominal surgery will also be disassembled (when? Why? How?). During the practice, under the supervision of an instructor, you will learn the technique of draining the abdominal cavity and analyze the indications for it.
At the end of the school day, you will learn about the criteria and principles for closing a laparotomy wound, the technique and the choice of suture material. And also analyze the features of the management of postoperative patients in abdominal surgery.
Most of the course time is devoted to practical work with biological material.
This approach allows for a short time to master the correct technique of intestinal sutures and the formation of intestinal anastomoses, which in the future will avoid complications in the surgeon’s independent practice.
