PGA - polyfilament resorbable suture material

Synthetic polyfilament braided absorbable suture material.

Composition: polyglycolic (Polyhydroxy Acetyl) acid - PHA​.

Produced by various manufacturers.

Mechanism of resorption: hydrolysis

Term of resorption: 60-90 days after operation.

Application

Comparison of soft tissues (including suturing the wound in abdominal, thoracic surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, intradermal cosmetic suture) and for ligation.

Characteristics
  • Painless sutures resorption
  • The reaction of inflammation in the tissues is minimal
  • Reliable fixation of the node

It is not recommended to apply if conditions are present that can slow down the wound healing process.
